Board Chair

Director Lungu is a Chartered Accountant and also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Reading, Henley Business School, in the United Kingdom.  His leadership and management experience, which spans over twenty-five years’, includes Board Member, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Director, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) roles in multinationals, non-governmental organizations and United States Government (USG) programs. He brings a wealth of technical expertise on donor related programs, having worked and consulted on projects under the United States Agency for Development (USAID), United States Development Foundation (USADF), the European Union (EU), the United Nations (UN), the World Bank, GIZ, the Finnish Government and many others. He is an expert in financial management, business administration, corporate governance, project management, private sector engagement, and economic policy analysis and formulation.

Richard Kajokoto

A seasoned Human Resources Professional with over twenty-nine years of experience with global organizations, Director Kajokoto is currently the Director of Human Resources – Zambia at PepsiCo – Varun Beverages.  He has held previous positions at Amaethon Agr (Z) Limited and DHL, to name a few.  Richard’s strength lies in driving company growth as well as identifying, designing and implementing turnaround strategies.  He has successfully executed assignments in change management and organization building and has also contributed to the development of organizational strategies that include, amongst others, talent acquisition, training and development, succession planning, employee retention and relations, mentorship and coaching, contracts management, and organizational design.

Dr. Lungowe Matakala

Director Matakala is a Lecturer of Law and a Researcher at the University of Zambia. She holds, amongst others, a Master of Laws (LL.M) Degree in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria, as well as a PhD in Human Rights and Law Reform from King’s College, University of Cambridge.  Her passion and knowledge of human rights has seen her take up several consultancies with various entities locally and internationally, such as the United Nations, the Office of the Public Protector of Zambia, the Ministry of Justice, Zambia, GIZ, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Centre of Human Rights in Pretoria, the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, National Assembly of Zambia, the Institute for Research and Development on Inclusion and Society, United Kingdom, and many others.  She currently also sits on the Board of Little Sun Zambia Limited, a social business providing solar energy and technology services to households, small businesses, smallholder farmers, and communities in Zambia.

Roy Mwala

A legal practitioner, Director Mwala started his legal career at AMW & Co. Legal Practitioners where he rose through the ranks from Legal Trainee to Partner over the span of eight years. He then went on to establish Roy Mwala & Co. Legal Practitioners in Lusaka in August 2023, where he is Managing Partner. His practice areas include corporate, commercial and family law. He has strong governance experience as well, as he currently sits on the Boards of Hilltop Investment Limited and Science4Wildlife, which is concerned with wildlife conservation.

Dr. Mary Katepa Bwalya

Director Bwalya is a medical doctor with a specialization in Paediatrics & Child Health and also holds a Masters in Public Health. Her previous job titles have included: Senior Registrar at the University Teaching Hospital, Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI) Manager at Ministry of Health / Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health, Consultant Paeditrician, Clinical Director at the Paediatric Centre of Excellence, and the National Professional Officer (NPO) for Child and Adolescent Health for the World Health Organization (WHO) Zambia Office. She has also co-authored several articles and reports centred around children’s health in Zambia.
