PCZ is registered as a Local NGO under the Company limited by guarantee under the Companies Act 10 of 2017 and has dual registration with the Non-Governmental Organization Act (NGO Act) of 2009. Therefore, PCZ is recognized as a Public Benefit Organization or Non-Profit Organization. The Organization currently has five full-time independent Board Members. The Board is assisted on technical matters by two board committees including the Audit, Risk, and Finance Management Committee and the Program Management and Business Development Committee. The advisors that sit on the committees are non-Executive Directors including Chartered Accountants and Risk/Compliance Advisors, Legal Advisors, Medical Doctors and Public Health Practitioners with Ministry of Health (MoH) and World Health Organization (WHO) experience. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as an ex-officio member of the Board.
PCZ has strong internal control systems that are central to ensuring accountability and building trust with its partners and donors. The organization is led by a CEO and operates under a Board-approved Approval Matrix, with staff following clear and transparent processes in every aspect of financial management. The team conducts regular bank reconciliations and budget reviews, and every financial action—from journal entries to procurement approval—undergoes a structured review to meet organizational standards and those of donors. A dedicated compliance team manages budgets, ensures alignment with donor regulations, and coordinates with funding partners. Key decisions, such as signing checks or managing payroll, are handled only by authorized leaders, maintaining accountability and security in all critical actions. To support audits, PCZ keeps a register of verified signatures on all key documents, ensuring that every action is traceable and transparent.
