The handover ceremony was officiated by the guest of honor, Shibuyunji Council Chairperson-Mr. Adrian Mwanakayemba, and also present were the District Health Director Dr. Evans Muleya, and Mumbwa Council Chairperson- Mr. Charlie Masumo.
The guest of honour urged the CBVs to take care of the donated work tools as they serve the communities they reach with community-based immunization sensitization campaigns and support programs. PCZ, through the FPP project is empowering the CBVs by providing resources, including work tools to enable them deliver immunization and related services and ensure children who have never been reached with vaccination services in Mumbwa and Shibuyunji are found and they are vaccinated.

Through the FPP project, PCZ will strengthen the capacity of eight rural health facilities and health posts and surrounding communities in Shibuyunji and Mumbwa districts to deliver accessible immunization services to children and other populations. All the health facility in-charges from the targeted health facilities were present at the handover ceremony to ensure health facility and community ownership of the program. The targeted rural health facilities and health posts include Nampundwe, Sichoobo, Shabasonje, Mwembezhi, Shacele and Kapyanga in Shibuyunji district and Lungobe and Myooye in Mumbwa district.

PCZ extends its gratitude to local authorities in Shibuyunji and Mumbwa districts, health facilities leadership, the CBVs and targeted communities for owning and driving this initiative. With your commitment, we are certain the immunization program will reach all targeted children and other sub populations, and all children will survive and thrive because they will get all the vaccinations they need against deadly childhood illnesses! We continue thanking our donors Churches Health Association of Zambia – CHAZ Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance for making this project possible!
Lets ensure our children are (V)accinated,( I)mmunized and (P)rotected!!!!
