Project Concern Zambia Chief Executive Officer (Yvonne Mulenga) engaging with Community Members
Project Concern Zambia (PCZ) is thrilled to announce our partnership with Bayer Global! Through this innovative partnership that has been founded on the values of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) as a pathway to self-reliance, Bayer will provide initial funding to establish a primary health care center in Munga Ward, Kabwe District, where Bayer has also launched a multi-million maize seed factory. The primary health care (PHC) initiative will be owned, led, and driven by the Kabwe District Health Office (DHO) and Munga Community members.
PCZ will support the design and deployment of a PHC program based on the proven PCZ PHC model that empowers local authorities and communities to timely identify healthcare needs in their communities, and through a collective multisectoral effort, strengthen PHC systems to sustainably address health issues and critical contextual socioeconomic issues that are determinants of health. PCZ will effectively network Kabwe DHO and Munga Community leadership with other Government strategic district offices and the private sector to ensure Munga has a sustainably strengthened PHC system that is responsive to the community health needs and provides comprehensive primary healthcare services to over 10,000 community members in Munga Ward, including Bayer employees and their dependents.
We continue to give gratitude to our donors who have given us stepping stone funding that we are now leveraging to integrate innovative business models as we accelerate our journey to self-reliance. Thank you to USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance and the American People, Helmsley Charitable Trust, Churches Health Association of Zambia – CHAZ The Global Fund, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and Global Communities.
Thank you to the Munzele family for donating land for the PHC center, and Willis Omondi Ogutu for demonstrating to us that as Bayer you are passionate about bringing to life your slogan “Health for All, Hunger for None” for the people of Kabwe.
