The Malaria CLM initiative empowers communities to use health system data for advocacy, identifying barriers in service delivery, providing actionable feedback to service providers, empowering communities to participate in decision-making, and holding providers accountable. The Malaria CLM also strengthens data collection and uses findings to advocate for policy changes, with community action plans, and behavior change communication, promote effective malaria control strategies, promote solutions that improve health outcomes, and ensure services meet the needs and rights of the people they serve.
The initiative is being implemented in the following districts: Nakonde, Isoka, Chinsali, Mpika, Kanchibiya, Lavushimanda, Kasama, Senga, Mbala, and Mpulungu.
Through this collaboration, PCZ and its partners aim to complement the Ministry of Health National Monitoring Systems, ensuring that services are responsive to the needs and rights of community members. By involving communities, it fosters ownership, sustainability, and effective malaria control strategies, promotes transparency and accountability, strengthens health systems, and contributes to the national goal of malaria elimination in Muchinga and the Northern Provinces of Zambia.
